Anyone who is a current client of or has been a client of a solicitor can make a complaint against that solicitor.

The complaint must be raised with the Firm in the first instance within 6 months of conclusion of business or within 6 months of discovery of the difficulty, whichever date is later.

A beneficiary who is entitled under an Estate can make a complaint. Complaints involving elements of professional negligence can be investigated by SCC however the scope of the investigation may be limited.
