To complain to your solicitor, you must put the complaint in writing to the solicitor’s firm. You can either write a letter outlining your concerns (signed and dated) or you can complete the In-house complaints form available on the Solicitor Complaints Committee website.
You must raise the complaint within 6 months of conclusion of business or within 6 months of discovery of the difficulty, whichever date is later. You should retain a copy of the complaint form sent to the solicitor and any response which you receive.
